Why a shoe-sock hybrid stays on

Booties don't fail by ripping — they fail by flying off. Rigid booties have a hard-edged opening that catches on dewclaws when the paw flexes. A knit sock moves with the paw, the cream-colored ribbed cuff is wide and non-binding (no rubber band cutting circulation), and the velcro strap wraps above the ankle joint where the leg is naturally wider — the dual anchor means it can't pivot off.

Measure paw width across the widest pad with the dog standing. Sizing up causes flopping; sizing down pinches the toes.

Care
