Why pineapple fleece + embroidered eyes

Pineapple fleece is a knit with cube-shaped raised texture across the surface. The bumps catch in a dog's teeth in a way smooth plush doesn't — slows the chew and adds a mild gum-massage effect during play. It isn't indestructible (no plush is), but it survives ordinary fetch and cuddle use far better than the thin minky plush most squeaky toys ship with.

Embroidered eyes matter for safety, not looks. Glued plastic eyes are the single most common failure point on plush toys — they pop off, then get swallowed. Embroidery means nothing comes loose.

Match the toy to the dog's mouth, not the body. A Mini Dachshund usually wants Small even though their body is medium-length — the Medium duck won't fit comfortably in their jaws for carrying.

When this isn't the right toy

Power-chewers will tear through this. Pineapple fleece is tougher than smooth plush but it's still fabric — a determined adult Lab or Pit Bull mix gets to the squeaker in under a day. For those dogs, a solid rubber toy like the Durable TPR Rubber Dog Ball survives serial destruction.

Care

Machine wash on gentle cycle in cold water with mild detergent. Skip the dryer — heat warps the squeaker reed and pills the fleece. Air dry flat, fluff by hand once dry. If the squeaker stops working but the body is intact, the reed is either saturated (let it dry out) or bitten through (replace — the reed isn't field-replaceable on sealed plush).
