Why a half-cocoon shape works

Cats and small dogs are descended from animals that den. The instinct shows up in how pets choose to sleep — wedged into a hoodie sleeve, behind the couch, under a blanket. A flat bed ignores that instinct. The slipper cave gives the back two-thirds full enclosure for warmth and visual cover, and leaves the front open so they can see out and you can see in. Sizing — measure first

Measure your pet nose to tail base. The bed's interior should be at least their body length so they can curl without their head hanging out the front. Handmade construction means actual size may vary 3–5 cm. See the size chart image below for the diagram.

• S — 45 × 30 × 25 cm / 17.7 × 11.8 × 9.8 in — cats up to 4 kg (8.8 lb), small dogs up to 4 kg

When this isn't the right pet bed

Skip this bed if your pet runs hot — moon-fleece plush traps body heat, which is great in fall and winter and miserable in July. Care

Spot clean with mild detergent and a damp cloth. Hand wash the inner cushion in cool water, lay flat to dry — skip the dryer because heat warps the plush trim and shrinks the PP cotton fill. The reversible cushion design means you can rotate sides between washes for a fresher-looking interior.
