Tear Stain Remover Powder for Dogs & Cats — 20g + Brush

Tear stains aren't dirt — they're porphyrin-stained fur. Porphyrins are iron-containing compounds in tears and saliva, and on light-colored coats they oxidize into the rusty brown crust that no amount of scrubbing will remove without also irritating the eye area. Wet wipes lift surface debris, but they can't undo oxidation that's chemically bonded to the fur, and the moisture they leave behind feeds the next round of staining within hours.

This powder works on the prevention side instead: brushed onto dry fur, it forms a thin hydrophobic coating so fresh tears bead and roll off rather than wicking into the coat. Without the wicking, porphyrins don't oxidize onto the fur. One application holds 12–24 hours.

What this fixes — and what it doesn't

The cosmetic effect (off-white powder visually toning down existing stains) shows up the same day, and the barrier effect prevents new staining from that point forward. What it can't do is remove fur that's already oxidized — the visibly stained hairs have to grow out, which usually takes 3–6 months of consistent application before the coat fully clears. The job of this product is making sure new growth comes in clean while the old growth cycles out.

Materials and ingredients

• Base: cosmetic-grade talc and silica — fine enough to brush onto fur without clumping, light enough not to leave residue
• Niacinamide: vitamin B3 derivative; mild anti-inflammatory for the surrounding skin
• Hyaluronic acid: humectant; keeps the skin under treated fur from drying out
• Centella asiatica: traditional anti-inflammatory botanical (gotu kola)
• Free of: added fragrance, dyes, and the preservatives most commonly linked to skin reactions in pet skincare
• Use surface: safe for daily use on dogs and cats; for eye-area, mouth folds, and urine-stained foot/genital fur

How to apply

Wipe the area clean and let the fur fully dry first — applying on damp fur defeats the barrier. Tap a small amount onto the brush, then sweep along the fur (not against the skin). Reapply once a day, or after the dog gets the area wet.

When this isn't the right product

Skip this if your dog has active eye discharge, redness, or signs of infection — see a vet first. This is a cosmetic prevention layer, not a medical treatment, and using a barrier powder over an untreated infection can mask the symptoms you'd want to track. Care
