Orthopedic Foam Dog Stairs — Curved Risers, Washable Cover

Small and senior dogs hate hard wooden pet ramps because they slip on the smooth surface, the angle is too steep for tired joints, and metal frames clang against the bedframe. This is the foam version — high-density foam block with curved (not blocky) step risers, soft fabric over the top, silicone-dot anti-slip base, and rounded corners on every edge so a learning dog doesn't bonk a knee.

Six size combinations cover sofa height (~30 cm) up to high-rise mattresses (~50 cm). Cover unzips and machine washes; the bone-shaped side pocket on the left is sized exactly for a sticky-roller.

Why foam beats wooden ramps

The failure mode for small dogs isn't overloading a ramp — it's refusing to use it. Foam solves three things at once: soft cover gives traction, each step has a flat landing platform (vs a continuous slope), and the gradient ascends gradually instead of in one steep angle. Older dogs that won't touch a wooden ramp will use these.

The risers are curved, not 90°. That matters because dogs descending tend to overshoot the step edge — a curve gives forgiveness on the landing.

Materials and build

• Core: high-density shape-retaining foam, single block — holds form without sagging
• Cover: grey woven fabric, water-repellent, removable via concealed full-perimeter zipper
• Base: silicone-dotted anti-slip — won't slide on hardwood, tile, or rugs
• Side pocket: cognac faux-leather bone-shape applique on the left side, sized for a lint roller or small toys
• Edges: rounded foam corners under the fabric, no sharp 90° angles

Sizing — match the furniture height

• 2-step (30 cm): sofas, low daybeds — L40 compact or L50 longer tread
• 3-step (35-40 cm): standard adult beds — L55 or L60
• 4-step (45-50 cm): high-rise mattresses with thick toppers — L72 or L75

All variants are 40 cm wide. The compact version of each step count saves floor space; the extended version gives a longer tread per step (gentler slope), useful for very small or arthritic dogs.

When this isn't the right product

If your dog is too anxious or arthritic to use any climbing aid at all, keep them at floor level instead. Care

Unzip the cover, machine wash on cold gentle cycle, air dry — water-repellent finish dulls over many washes but it's the cover that wears, not the foam. Don't machine wash the foam itself; spot clean with a damp cloth.
