Honey Pot Cat Cave Bed with Removable Washable Cushion

Cats prefer enclosed sleep spaces — every owner who's bought a flat bed and watched it get ignored in favor of a cardboard box already knows this. In the wild, cats sleep in burrows and rock crevices because being visible to predators while unconscious is a bad survival strategy. What this bed does differently from generic cave beds: the inner cushion is a separate, fully removable disc that machine-washes on its own. Most molded cave beds wash as a single unstructured blob and end up misshapen after a few cycles. How cats use it

Two modes: cushion in (the default — most cats settle into the back half with the front of the cushion as a chin rest) or cushion out (pull the disc and use it as a flat mat, useful in summer or for cats who want to monitor the room while still claiming the spot). Anxious cats bias inside for the first few weeks, then switch between both. Kneading on the rim is what the high-rebound PP cotton fill is built to handle.

When in doubt, size up. An opening that's too tight is the most common reason cats reject a cave bed — the discomfort of squeezing in cancels out the security of being inside.

When this isn't the right bed

Skip this if your cat already sleeps confidently in the open (couch, on top of you, sun patches) — the cave format adds nothing for cats that don't seek concealment. Care

Remove the inner cushion and machine wash on gentle cycle, air dry. Spot clean the exterior — submerging the whole pot compresses the PP fill unevenly. Vacuum weekly with an upholstery attachment around the entry point where the plush mats fastest.
